Columbia (inc Revolution Studios) releases on region 1 have a Cinema to DVD lead time of 4 months - even big blockbusters, such as Bad Boys 2, Once Upon A Time In Mexico and Charlies Angels : Full Throttle (terrible film - but still did very well), so we should be looking at a mid-november release, at the latest.

Your right I just found that out myself. I think they were on a 2 year sequence with Spider-Man which would have brought it round with the X-Men 3 in 2006 and they was going to release it earlier in the year.
X-Men filming starts next year. By rights though X-Men 2 (United) should have been out in 2002 was delayed a year because of the actors strike. Shame we could have been looking at X-Men 3 next year.

It's probably best that they have to be spread out more. It could lead to Marvel overload otherwise.

I hope the new version of The Fantastic Four ditches the plan to have the torch guy in human form and throwing flames (( like that character from X-men 2 ))

I read due to cost restrictions it was planned to ditch a full flame version but fans have protested and they might be having second thoughts, i sure hope so, i'm looking forward to The Fantastic Four.

Pyro did walk around with a flame thrower in the comics.

I cannot see them ditching the proper Human Torch they could do it with CGI.

Should be out around October/November 2004.

Spider-man 3 should be out in October/November 2007 on both DVD and blue-ray DVD.

Decent CG flames have been around since Event Horizon (1997-ish?), so, even for budget reasons, ditching a full flame Torch doesn't fly.

And as for Pyro, he can't create fire, he can only manipulate it - so he always needs a source.

Having the Human Torch not being able to fully 'Flame On' and fly around ect makes a mockery of the name - either they do them all properly, or not at all.

I hate half-hearted attempts at at established characters as it really spoils it for the majority of fans, and after all, it is/was the fans that made the comics as successful as they've been. :)

    Gary.
