    Hi,

    I second Nike's comments, Tee. You've answered your own question as accurately as I've known "mono" to mean.

    I'm a little confused - whats the deal with mono sound? As far as I can tell there are 2 types right?

    I just watched Jaws 2 and House and both these DVDs were 2.0 channel mono, that is the sound comes from the front right and left speakers with NO stereo effects - NOT the center channel. Is this right? I'm just feeling abit stupid today and am therefore getting confused ;) I watched Criterion's Long Good Friday the other day and while it's labelled the same as Jaws 2 and House on the back of the box (Dolby Digital Mono), the sound auto decodes to the center channel only.....

    Can someone clear this up fo me?

    Cheers.....

    Tee,
    I think you have cleared this up by yourself: What you've written in you post is certainly my understanding of it;
    2.0 mono: same signal through Front l + r
    1.0 mono: centre speaker.

    Like your website BTW :)

    Cheers you two - I'm glad my understanding of mono is the same as others....
