Question What's your tips for setting up and calibrating Philips Ambilight TVs?!

Novice Member

Do you have any tips or best practices to share to help with A: Setting up the TV, and B: Calibrating the colour?

  1. Set to Game Mode . This ensures fastest response with what's on the screen.

  2. Turn intensity down to 5 or 6. This helps the glow blend in nicer with on screen colours, and not be to vivid.
Configuring Picture

Here's where I'm stuck.
  1. Is there a way to adjust contrast / brightness while playing a DVD, or viewing source from HDMI / XBOX?

Xbox has a picture calibration wizard, but with each image, you seem to have to back out to the Philips main screen, navigate to options, make your adjustment, then change source to HDMI 1 to get back to Xbox to see if your changes made a difference.

    This can't be right?

  2. Do you select ISF Day / Night then start tinkering? Or do you select Personal?

Thanks in advance :)
