Yesterday I posted a note on this forum that I had put an ad in the classifieds. Has some over zealous mod deleted it? I'm a most law abiding citizen but can't see the problem.

I've not tried to elicit a PM or sale through this forum, merely posted information - as I might do if I saw someone else post a sale somewhere that I thought might be of interested to TAG owners.

I've not hinted that an item might be for sale to encourage contact and, critically, my classifed ad was posted first.

Have I really broken any rules? Any views?

    or :( ?

    Cheers

If you have, I don't see a problem in advising members of items for sale or wanted. I for one don't check the classifieds very often, and received a lot of help from this forum when looking for a programming cable.

    Hi Derekn,

I think maybe it has been mistakenly deleted, i think mod's would have explained
any objections in the opening post and deleted text not the entire post.

Don't remember the wording of your post but you see lots of these types posts
on this forum that don't seem to have raised any objections in the past.
am sure a mod will happily set the record straight.

    Regards,
    drew...

If you look at the classified ad forums you will see that they are the busiest parts of AV Forums with pages and pages of adverts posted every day.

If we allowed everyone to post in the general forums that they had just put something up for sale in the classifieds we wouldn't be able to see the wood for the trees as the forum would just be cluttered up with links to ads.
