Whats the minimum distance advised for Rear Projection TV, say about a 44" screen?

I am about 3.5 metres, straight on. Will I get the benefit or is that too close to enjoy??

    Thanks.

    CB.

Suggested viewing distance from CRT and RP TVs is normally between 4 to 5 times the diameter of the screen.

As you've mixed up inches/feet and metres in your post I can't be arsed to work out whether you've got it right or wrong :D

    Between 4.5 and 5.5 meters for a 44" screen.

    Me.

    About 3 metres, 40" RP.

Although the 'guest seat' is 2 metres and at an angle.

    No probs on either.

    Depends really.
If you're watching Condorman then I suggest about 3.5 miles back from the TV, otherwise you should be OK ;)

Yes, it is the 'sweet spot' for both pic & sound.
Although sometimes I get the 'guest seat' when the nephews & nieces are round (like last night!), still a good view though.
