I was wondering what the difference is between the HD-XE1 and the HD-XA1?

Region code and PAL support (maybe a different resolution choice?) -- all for SD of course. Otherwise, I'm thinking they're probably identical.

    Anybody?

The XA1 is a first gen US/Japan player and the XE1 is a second gen EU player (equivalent to the second gen US XA2).

    Yikes!

Yes -- of course! I was thinking XE1 Vs XA2 -- silly me!

Two major differences are that the XE2 supports 1080p60 output (with expectations of 1080p24 via firmware update), and it has the Silicon Optix Reon upscaling chip, which is viewed as one of the better on the market.
