Whats different between a DS Lite and a straight forward DS, seen them advertised on here but dont know which one I should consider for my daughter. No nothing about hand helds so forgive my ignorance.

Lite = Brighter screens, smaller unit. Essentially that is it. If you compare them side by side, the Lite looks far more attractive.

Lite is worth paying extra for, the differences are significant.

I had a go on a DS months before getting a lite, but the opinions from eveyone were that the difference in screen quality was enough alone to go for a Lite. People have in fact traded in original DSs in order to get a Lite.

I'd say the leap from a normal DS to a DS Lite is the same as that from a standard to a high-def TV. The picture quality you get is miles better. Definitely get the Lite :smashin:

have just upgraded to a lite after having my ds for nearly 2 years it's so much better the most appreciated improvements are the brighter screen, lighter weight and bigger stylus

ps a hori screen protector from ebay or play asia is a very worthy investment
