    Hi

I have a Toshiba 32ZD26P. The sound on this tv is poop. What I am after is to run a sub and two satellite? speakers. Can I just plug into the back of the tv or to my Sky box.

I was going to try my computers speakers but there is only one lead into the sub and on the tv, left and right outputs.

What is the easiest and cheapest way of doing this?

( I dont want surround, just better bass and treble)

    Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately there is no provision on this TV for using extension speakers. It does have a line level output for feeding the signal to an external amplifier which in turn can feed speakers but this is the only way to do it.

Buy a cheap second hand reciever and a cheap surround speaker setup. The other option is to look out for a computer speaker setup with a built in decoder but IMHO your still looking arround £200.

Another option is to wire your outs on your tv to s stereo sound system or a stereo amp and a pair of floorstanders and forget the sub.

The audio outputs on your Sky box are like those on your TV in that they are low level only and need to be amplified

Run an analogue cable (the red and black one) from the two Sky audio-out ports to an external amp. The amp can be 2 or 5.1 channel, you just decide how many speakers you want.

Combining the telly speakers at the front with a sub and surround, off an external amp at the back, is a no-no. Forget the telly speakers and get a couple of fronts running off a cheap stereo amp, playing the signal from the Sky box. Turn down then sound from the telly completely - it's pants.

    Hi Copthis,
Let us know what your budget is for the whole lot and we'll recommend something.
The classifieds at this forum are a good bet, online auctions are also good. Best to get as much advice as possible and then try and arrange a demo at a AV shop. Certainly worth doing the research first.

The amp will have a specific output for the sub, and ones for the other speakers also.
