please let me know what mail order companies are the best
purchase or rental?
I think that depends on what you are buying and if you want it dead cheap or you want some good service.
Give us a clue?
best for region 1 i.e price and reliability
Personally, I've used quite a few (depends who is cheapest for the disks I want at the time of order).
I use the following regularly though.
I use DVDboxoffice and Play.com the most though.
how long does it take to be delivered from dvd box office and the others apart from play.com because i use them already
all are about 5-7 days. But a lot depends on the postoffice as much as the company.
DVDboxoffice disks are typically quite prompt (3-5 days) although there is a slight drawback with them in that they dont tell if you a disk is in stock or not. So there can 'occassionally' be a delay waiting for the disk to come into stock.
Probably bought 50+ disks from DVD boxoffice over the last year and have never had a problem. (had a 3 week wait for a disk one time cause it was out of stock, but thats all).
They are not always THE cheapest but they are usually amongst the cheapest.
what dvd mail order have usa versions and which ones get there dvd's from canada.
In my experience it is very rare for there to be any difference in the content between the US and Canadian releases. Usually they are exactly the same and sometimes there is slightly different artwork, but thats it.
I can think of at least one DVD where the Canadian release is FAR SUPERIOR to the US release and in fact to all the other regions. That DVD is "Good Will Hunting" - the Canadian release is the only one out of all the regions which is anamorphic
Pete, most suppliers source their DVDs from Canada because they're much cheaper. It's not really worth paying extra just to get non-bilingual artwork is it??
Thanks for the link to the Momento Guide.
Been looking for something like that.
It's great - I printed one out on a single sheet of A4 (double sided) and put it in the case. Looks nice and authentic
Mines Printing as I type.....
Although I might try again on card.
...now where did I put that velum....
Madness of King George - the US version is w/s anamorphic, the Canadian is P&S with a very dodgy picture.
