i have purchased a new panasonic e55 dvd recorder and am looking to buy some dvd-rw discs and also might buy a ram cartridge to test it, can anyone tell me what discs are the best. thanks

Don't buy DVD-RW disks - the Panasonic E55 doesn't write to them. It records on DVD-RAM and DVD-R disks.

As for which brands to buy - well there are loads of 'good brands'. For DVD-RAMs you won;t go far wrong by using Panasonic, Maxell and TDK brands. For DVD-R Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, Maxell, TDK and Verbatim are good in my experience.

Some good, cheap online suppliers of media:

http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/
http://www.digitalpromo.co.uk/

I agree with Rasczak - Stay away from "cheap" brands - they are just not worth the aggravation. The E55 will play DVD-RW - it just won't record them.

thanks for the information, i nearly purchased a load of dvd-rw discs yesterday.
