whats the best deal people have got with sky fibre ?

After my 12 month sky bb ended I signed up to bt they messed me about so gave up then tried plusnet who also where neither use nor ornament and couldn't get my order sorted ,so this afternoon I thought I would see what sky can do this is just for sky fibre and calls no TV as I have youview ,she said she could do me a 12 month contract the new router free postage she wouldn't lose the £50 install no matter what I said but she gave me free line rental for 12 months and half price for the first 3 months , its not the super fast bb that was another £10 extra but 40meg is fine for us ,so I'm quite happy with that .

Still got 6 months left to run on my discounted line rental and just had an email telling me my half price movies and sport has been extended for another 3 months :smashin:

It really is a lottery with who you get to speak to when you phone but always be polite and build a slight rapport with them and they will see what they can do for you

My heart sank after reading this thread last night as I ordered fibre through mysky yesterday afternoon paying the £50 fee. I could have kicked myself as I always call them normally when there's a sniff of an offer to be had.

Thought I'd chance my arm with a polite cancellation phone call this morning and they've waived the £50 and given me free line rental for 12 months :)

No, I'm quite happy with the 12 months free line rental and to be honest with my current £2.50 multiroom deal and half price movies, I think I should quit whilst I'm ahead! ;)

i was suprised i must admit by the 12 month free line rental offer and only a 12 month contract to boot, but seeing you getting the £50 install waived makes me want to ring back and ask to cancel my install, but the first thre months half price i cant moan at but not as good as the free install mmmmm

Just signed up for fibre (40meg), talk unlimited and just got the activation fee waived, so better than nowt I suppose. Paying line rental annually saves a fiver a month as well.
BT infinity contract is up but they only wanted to flog me their tv package but with no multiroom offering it was a deal breaker plus they wanted another £5 a month for infinity (I had a discount for 80meg option 2 at £17) and their calls package is significantly dearer when I need calls to ROI.

Hope Sky is going to be ok.

I got £50 connection for free and 1/2 price on my line rental for 12 months. A bit gutted I didn't push for 12m free line rental now. But I was still under 12m broadband contract so not bad i guess

What number do you guys call?
I rang cancellations today (only have phone and BB) with them.
Said couldn't offer me anything but someone from ring back might call me. But couldn't guarantee it.

I was hoping to talk to someone who might offer me all three services at a special price, especially now BT are offering free sports.

They gave you 12 months free phone line or 12 months free fibre broadband?

You could try and order then cancel like I did;

Could do.
Thing is, I rang the cancellations line and explained that I want to leave them to go to BT.
He said that there's no need to contact them. I simply contact the new provider and they will get in touch with Sky directly to arrange the changeover.

He did ask why I wanted to go. I explained for two reasons:
1) My current connection is intermittant (old and tired router I think)
2) I'm thinking of upgrading to fibre and BT are giving free sports!!

Kept me on hold whilst talking to a manager and then came back to say they are not offering deals on fibre at the moment, but someone from ringback might call me to do a deal. But couldn't guarantee I'd get a ring back.

I think if I order and then cancel, they'll just say, "OK, bye!!"

Which dept did you ring? Cancellations?? Upgrades??
Do you have the full TV package with them too?

I don't (anymore) so I wonder if that's why they don't care if I leave?

That must be the difference then.
I used to have the whole lot with them. But cancelled the full TV pack about six months ago. Get a letter every week asking me back for 50% discount for 12 months. It's a good deal but only if you actually watch stuff. We don't so not taken it up.

I think when I ring cancellations, they can see that there's an offer on the TV side of things and wont offer anything else.

Are they giving you a free router?
