hi there all, a group of us are off to see the matrix this saturday and was wondering whether anyone could give me some suggestions at a good venue to see it.

The imax version wont be out for a while and the odeon at Liecester square doesn't have it - is there any other cinemas around the Liecester square area that have the charm of the Odeon?

    thanks

yep the warner is pretty good ( saw the first one there and it was a very good print). I still like the odeon though for that full on going to the pictures experience even if the quality can be a little lacking now and again.

The NFT is probably the best quality cinema in London but I'm not usre if they ever get first run.

I saw it at Warner - Screens 5 & 7 are THX so you can't get really get a bad seat. No where near as big as Odeon though - which makes the sound better.

I have to say that I wasn't that impressed with the sound at Odeon Leicester Square when I went to see The Two Towers there.

One of my more "local" cinemas is the new(ish) Warner Village in Islington, which is rather nice.

I thought the sound was great at the odeon in leicester square for the two towers....well up the top where i was sitting anyway. I remember it whizzing around all over the place.

I'll be going to warner then i guess - screens 5 or 7 it is ;)

    thanks all

I've been in more than one cinema that does a good job with the surround sound effects but doesn't sound so nice for the centre-channel (dialogue, especially). Still, being rather deaf I'm very sensitive to any sort of distortion that makes dialogue harder to understand. It probably wouldn't bother other people as much.
