I have a system consists of:

    Yamaha RXV-650
    Sony DVD NS-305
    Wharfedale Diamond8.4 fronts
    Wharfedale Diamond8center

i want to buy surround speakers so i want to know what do u think,

it will be very difficult to attach the speakers to the wall, but what do u think gonna give me better results??

Getting diamond 8.1 & put them on stands or on the wall if possible??

get Diamond 8.3 & put them on stands & that well make them with the stands 120CM from the ground

or get the Diamond DFS & put them on the rear wall if i can??

& does the diamond DFS make great difference in surround sound than the direct speakers???

I maybe attaching them on the walls on the sides not behind me,so how this gonna affect bi-poles & direct speakers??

I only want Wharfedale Diamond8 speakers to complete the family of the speakers.

Forget about the Bi-polars for now,

    & tell me what would be better option for surrounds;

    1-Get the Diamond8.3 (80cm tall) & place them on a 37Cm stand(which i already have) the cost will be=110UK pounds

2-Get the Diamond8.1(29cm tall) & place them on a stand (122cm tall) the cost=100UK pounds.

am choosing between those options coz i don't have the abaility to attach them to the wall & i heared from alot of people that the surrounds should be above ear level by a good hight to really experince surround?!!!

The 8.3s are a much better speaker with excellent mid detail (at that price) originally about 2-300 i believe.

Floorstanders as rears normally cause more problems than they solve so i'd definately use the 8.1s

Open for debate. I guess its down to lifestyle and living whether its practical or not but performance wise, a 101 companies, inc KEF WB PMC Mission Tannoy etc... cant be wrong... or can they?

Can you not get the Diamond 8.2? If not get the 8.1 as they would be better and smaller then using the 8.3 floorstanders. Floorstanders are not designed to be used as surrounds and could produce over bearing sound (esp bass) wen they are supposed to be subtle and blend in.

I can get the 8.2 but then pairing them with stands will cost me more than the price of the 8.3 ,while the 8.2 is an 8.3 but without the (wooden) rest of the speaker.

Floorstanders are not designed to be used as surrounds and could produce over bearing sound (esp bass) wen they are supposed to be subtle and blend in.

that's what am afraid of but am also afraid that the smaller driver of the 8.1 wouldn't put as good Midrange as the 8.3.
