Are region 0 dvd's counterfeit?
No. First of all, check out the FAQ.
Region 0 DVDs are just not assigned any region and can be played on all players.
Typically they are music DVDs. Or porn. Although there are plenty of other instances. Say, for example where the company owns distribution rights worldwide.
Re cinema releases, there's usually less than a month delay between the US and UK release. Whereas the delay between cinema release and DVD release is usually around 6 or 7 months. That explains why we have movies at the cinema here before the region 1 DVD gets released.
Your question is very strange and I think you need to do some reading up on the subject.
Start at www.totaldvd.net in the features section. The FAQ will also help.

In addition to what Spectre has said, It might also be worth noting that there are many counterfeit/pirate 'Region 0' dvd's advertised on auction sites such as ebay and yahoo that really ought to be avoided!
For example ,Region 0 dvd versions of A.I,Pearl Harbour and Moulin Rouge have been available on ebay for months. In fact Region 0 versions of TPM have been available for well over a year now! These are without a doubt counterfiet and usually originate from the Far-East.
I caught 5 minutes of a Region 0 version Jurassic Park 3 at a friends house and the quality was utterley apalling!
Also note that many, if not most, of the Criterion Collection discs are R0.
A lot of Anchor Bay titles (particularly the horror ones) are region O.
However, always check to see whether a region 0 disc is in PAL or NTSC and then buy accordingly.
All valid points but if it is R0 and is a film that is not out yet, then you might as well assume that it is a pirate copy.
