What's my PC worth?

    I fancy chaning to a Mac so would be selling my:

    Dell Dimension 8400 Tower
    1GB Ram
    160GB HDD
    3.2 Intel Pentium with hyperthreading
    XT800 Graphics Card
    Windows XP
    Standard black keyboard, intellipoint mouse
    Dell speakers and sub
    Dual layer DVD rewriter (all formats save for RAM).
    17" Ultrasharp LCD screen (DELL)
    SB Audigy 2 soundcard

    Cost me about £1400 all in all, just wondered what I might get for it now!

    Probably about 400ish if your lucky. Best bet is to keep an eye on Ebay for similar specc'd machines and see what they go for.

    Some people do prefer to buy Branded (Dell/HP/IBM) etc.. so you shouldn't have to much hassle selling

    £400? Even with a 17" LCD? Wow, that's pretty crappy. I would have thought I could have got £150 for the monitor.

    Ah well, best off keeping it I guess. Thanks!

    It depends on where you live I guess but I would say around £600 tops. To add to what uridium says though, look at some local papers to see what similar spec'ed machines go for. Around here, Loot is a big one for us. You can search their website on http://www.loot.com.

    £600 is what I was looking for to be honest. The iMac I want is £850 so it's not too big a leap, cheers guys!
