    the latest DVD releases ?

You all seem to have gone a little quiet on your latest purchases !

Titles such as SHAFT, GONE IN 60 and SEVEN have come and nobody has mentioned them.

SHAFT I thought was great in the cinema but upon repeat viewing it lacks so much in so many areas. Picture and sound are of good quality but the film itself just fails to log in the memory.

GONE IN 60 may have been slated by so many people but I never saw it at the cinema. I can imagine that it did not work at the cinema but as a HC movie its great. The story may be crap, the acting and script lacking any imagination but its still more than watchable. The ending is far fetched but its an action film for f*c*s sake, its supposed to be far fetched.

SEVEN well im off too watch that now

I thought shaft was fantastic, a very cool film, very slick 8.5/10.
Gone in 60 seconds was good, but too usa a.o.k and a bit slushy in parts but still a good film 7/10. [IMG]
Scary Movie was funny but a bit samey.7/10

I loved Scary Movie at the cinema, but repeat viewing on DVD is quite a let down. [IMG]

Road Trip should be waiting for me at home now (for the mrs really), and Se7en is also winging its way but I may not get it until after Christmas now.

    What else...

    Gladiator! Awesome. Say no more!

I'm getting Spinal Tap for Xmas, and I've bought the wife a couple of chick flicks as well.

Think that's about it really. Been fairly quiet on the DVD buying front of late.

You could try the original Gone in 60 seconds, much better than the remake and with a dts soundtrack.

If only the 2 Ealanor's could swap places the '74 film would be perfect.

Well ive just got ART OF WAR which I forgot I had even ordered.

Not heard anything at all but as long as theres a bit of action it will keep me amused.

    The box however looks terrible

ART OF WAR got slated universally.

Let me know if its as bad as they say.

Christmas post (and a fat bastard lazy postman) have meant my Godzilla 2000 and Hollow Man are due next week. [IMG]

Watched ART OF WAR and its not that bad !

Also how can a film which has fairly good reviews and previews on some major web sites including www.dvdfile.com be considered to be universally slated ?

And dont blame the Postman, if he aint got the mail he can not deliver it can he !

Road Trip turned up yesterday, and Se7en came this morning.

Probably won't be watching Se7en till the other side of Xmas (too busy), but the other half and I have watched Road Trip now, and I gotta say it was hilarious! Hardly stopped smiling the whole way through, and it was laugh out loud funny quite a few times.

It was the first time I've seen it, and I can imagine it won't stand up to many repeats, but it'll probably get an airing every time the fiance's friends come for the weekend!

Oh well, better carry on tidying for the visitors!

I got Se7en this morning and both spindles were broken so both discs were loose. I also got Road Trip and the disc was detached from the spindal and the box was broken in the corner. WHATS GOING ON!!!

I'm not gonna watch Se7en, I'm gonna send it back and get it replaced.

Anyhoo, I've also got '60 Secs, Shaft, Stand By Me (Spec. Ed.), Mighty Joe Young (I liked it!) and Bugs Life Collectors Ed. (Woohooo) to watch plus any I get for Xmas, so it's not all bad.

Now if I can only avoid disc rot...

    Merry xmas y'all.

Art Of War was a much better action movie than the likes of Romeo Must Die but could have done with a better script and a little more coreography to the martial arts sequence. The closest I can compare it too is a not so funny True Lies with a mix of Romeo Must Die.

Picture quality was very good and the sound was only 5.0 but had HUGE bass and great rear effects
