    Hi all,

I bought my wife a mobile phone from aldi last christmas (aldis own brand) and all of a sudden the battery seems to loose alot of the charge even though shes not used the phone.

Any help or advice would be appreciated

    Kind regards Mark

    What sort of phone?
If it's a smart phone, check for any new software and consider a restart or even a factory reset.

If it's a more basic phone, check the battery type. If it's Lion, it may just have reached the end of its life. 200-300 charges is not unrealistic for a cheap battery.

If it's NiMH, then it may require a full discharge and re-charge. Run it until it goes totally flat, then fully charge it for 12-14 hours and see if it recovers.

    Hi,

The phone is a medion E4506 smartphone. My wife doesnt like running many updates as she thinks that some arent needed or she doesnt use the app that wants to update so she cancels them.

The battery is a Lithium Ion battery 3.7v 1800mAh 6.66Wh so would i need to buy a new battery with what you said about it getting to the end of its life?

If my wife needs a new battery is there any chance i could buy a normal 1800mAh battery or does it have to be a medion battery?

Google the phone to see if there has been any frequent issues regarding a battery problem. Also I would take the advice already given above. Discharge and re-charge and check for software updates which may help the problem. Also there maybe some phone settings and app settings you could tweak to help battery life. Another option would be return to store. Good luck.

I phoned aldi customer services themselves who told me to do a factory reset but my wife only wanted to do that as a last resort so i tried the full discharge/recharge solution which was suggested and it seems to have worked.

Many thanks to everyone for all your suggestions

    Kind regards Mark
