Until recently I was recording from Sky via the vcr scart to my Panasonic DMR E100 recorder, ie using a composite feed. Last week I purchased an RGB to svideo converter and now feed the Sky tv scart (with RGB output) through the recorder and then the converter to the TV. The recorder is correctly set to receive and output RGB. If anything other than an RGB signal goes into the converter the screen goes black.

If you're still with me, here's the conundrum: programmes that I recorded from the composite source are output through the converter and I get a picture on my tv! Does this mean that the recorder is up-converting from composite to RGB? If so, I didn't know this was possible.

    Any thoughts anybody?
