    A Prime Customer here.

Noticed very recently in the last couple of weeks that normal next-day Prime delivery orders stopped being accepted after about 5pm the same day, even when usually some items can go up to silly late times of 11pm

Just checking today at around 5:30pm, absolutely everything I have checked now that could be Prime ordered is not available for delivery until Monday. (Its not my address/delivery day preferences setting)

Are they shutting down warehouses in certain areas, reducing the delivery options etc.? Time of the year? Seems odd to me, not very "Prime"

    Maidstone (Kent) area here

Anyone else noticed this in their area?

Everything showing as Monday for me, too. Glad I placed an order mid-afternoon now. Thought it was odd then that it said order in the next hour to get it by tomorrow, normally it's longer.

It must be a bug in the system somewhere.

I ordered something this morning and it was guaranteed delivery tomorrow. Now its been dispatched, says delivery Monday. Not great

Same here! "John" keeps telling me it's because there is no warehouse near me or it is coming from a long way away....

He has no idea what I am on about, Had so many issues with amazon not delivering on time lately that my prime has been extended by about 5 months in the last 4 weeks!

I am not too far from maidstone myself, Suppose the local delivery hub could have an issue?

But "John" has just informed me it will come tomorrow and I am right there must be some problems with their system

Prime now showing the same for me. Less than £40 says there's now a cost of 3.99 for a 2-hour window slot. Cheeky gits. Anyone get informed of this via email etc?

I'm assuming you never paid extra for Prime Now? so why complain if it didn't work out for them.

You pay for Amazon Prime? ie next day ?
If you didn't pay extra for Amazon Prime Now, then why complain if they change the terms?

Well I was working under the assumption that Prime Now was just an extension of Prime that I pay for, so I wasn't expecting to pay any more for it, apart from the gratuity, but It's still free for an order over £40 and and before it wasn't and now it is and it surprised me considering it has never before cost me any extra.

i assume you read the T&C's when you signed up to prime?

your not be alone if you didn't but i'll bet my last pound that there will be a clause in there that says they can change their T&C's at anytime,

if they've discovered that it was costing to much to deliver small value items within 2 hours of ordering then they would of course change their T&C to stop that service all together or like they have done, left it there a convenience but with a small limitation of £40 minimum spend.

Amazon is a massive company making thousands of transactions a day, some are likely to go wrong, when this happens then i have always found their customer service to be second to none, either putting the issue right or compensating where putting the issue right is not possible.

I went to order something that I needed ASAP (over the weekend) at about 5:30pm yesterday - got a 'it will be with you on Monday' message so had to abort the order and make a visit to Ofiice Outlet (what was Staples) and pay a little more.

The cut-off time seems to be getting early plus the removal of Sunday deliveries is making Prime less speedy. And the introduction of 'add on' items is truely annoying too.

But this is the way Amazon have always works, knock out the competition by offering something great and once that is the only option standing steadily erode its greatness.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

I think much of it has to do with the carrier's they are using at the moment, as it seems to be a mess.

I do have Amazon prime now (or whatever it's called at around 80 quid a year) and in Leeds they are currently using 3 carrier's. Post office, Hermies and Amazon logistics. Amazon logistics is excellent on the whole, the other two are ok to terrible.

Half the time next day means 2 to 3 days now. My guess is that they are trying to sort out the mess for customers like myself who are thinking of cancelling the service, and have modified the terms to non prime now members to reduce the work load (same goes with earlier cut off time)

Must be your area. Prime for me is still perfect. Includes Sunday and even same day if I want.

I had the issue not long back where weekend deliveries stopped. I had to reset my preferences (turned off weekend deliveries then back on) - worked OK after that. I did however have an issue last week where something should have been delivered next day and it wasn't. I needed it so complained - gave me an extra month Prime for free. Turned up early morning next day so wasn't too bad.

I sent an email about this to Amazon this morning. I’ve had four orders in the last three weeks pushed back from showing Saturday when I ordered until Monday. If I wanted my stuff left with some random neighbour then I’d put their address on it.

A couple of years ago I went through a period of about 6-months where I had lots of late deliveries and I had to return a few items because they were faulty.

I always contacted Amazon and they always extended my Prime by a month each time without me asking for it.

I then got an email from Amazon threatening to suspend my account if I kept returning items and requesting to have my Prime membership extended!

I emailed them and reminded them of their responsibilities in adhering to UK consumer law AND distance selling. I was pretty quickly called back by someone a bit higher up the chain than your regular Amazon agent.

I then got a very apologetic email and... my Prime was extended by a month!

Apparently they do this a lot to US customers and started doing it with UK customers. However, I'm not sure if the practice has subsided now?

The past few items (high value) have either failed to arrive the next day or have failed in total. Always “amazon logistics” too.

It’s no longer “prime” service that’s for sure.
