I have read several posts about T2 being DVD-9 and DVD-18.

    What is this?

Is it the number of sides/layers or something else?

How would you know which version is which?

    Any info apprecaited

DVD-9 is single sided, dual layered. DVD-18 is dual sided, dual layered. Simply put. [IMG]

Thanks for that... But in some ways, wouldn't it be better to get T2 on 2x DVD-9s than 1xDVD 18s.

Although I like Double Sided disks, I always feel that they are slight more fragile and prone to damage.

Its not like the DVD player could read both sides.. If it could, then I would see the point, but for me, I would probably be happier with 2 single sided disks..

    Thanks again

I agree. I got a DVD-18 but I would have preferred two 9s. Not just because of wear and tear, but because you would also get a cool picture on each disc just like in the cases of ID4, The Abyss, MIB, Magnolia and Fight Club. Just to name a couple. [IMG]

http://www.dv-depot.com give the the choice of either the DVD-18 version (If they have any left ?) or the 2xDVD-9 version.

Both versions have identical content, (they are both from the same master).

I went for the 2xDVD-9 version as the disc cover art adds an extra layer of protection, whereas double sided discs seem to get damaged more easily.

The numbering is down to storage capacity. DVD-9 (Single Sided souble layered) is 9GB.
DVD-18 (Double Sided Double Layered) is 18GB.

GB is Gigabytes by the way.
