    Hi

We currently have a 14in tv/vcr combo as are main tv. I think I have managed to talk the wife into getting a new tv but she wont go for a 28in widescreen as it would be to big in the lounge. We have agreed to go for an LCD tv & probably a dvd-recorder. Is it worth going buying a 17in Widescreen ( Argos are doing a Mikomi for £279 (is this tv any good?)) or would a Beko 20LB450 be a better bet (I dont thin its a widescreen model). Or any suggestions appreciated.

    THanks

A 17inch widescreen LCD is probably too small as a main TV. The picture is really not much bigger than your 14" CRT. A little wider....but no big advantage.

You'd be better off with a 23" or a 26" LCD. These are still very compact, but would give you a significant screen size increase.

If you check out this forum you'll find some 26" LCD's at really low prices. (<£500) These aren't the best available, but will be considerably more advanced than any 17" set on the market. There has been no development in this size range...

Check out the Sonix at Sainsbury's thread....
