Hello all, Was wondering what an eight month old 435 xde would be worth at the moment as I am contemplating selling it as I would like the 50" version.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My guess...take a look at the cheapest available on the market...and remove a further 2/3's of the price....

@Rudy, it's all academic anyway isn't it...I wouldn't buy anything second hand unless it is a really good deal...My reasoning was that I'd rather save another month than getting it for just 1/3 below the new price....And considering that the set is more expensive than many others, worth it but more expensive nevertheless, people who may be looking to buy would be more tempted by a new cheaper model...I.e. FDE model or an 7200....

But it all depends on who wants it...

Put it like this, you can get a PV500 now for what? £2200?

Shops were clearing the last of the 435s for around £1800 so I guess you are going to be looking at around £1400 ish.

I bought my 42PW6 for £2250 last June, then swapped it for a PHD6 and that was at £3k back in Feb time, however when I sold it last month someone was doing the screen and a stand for £2k, so I sold it to a mate for £1650 and bought him a panasonic stand and scart input board for £200 so I really got £1450 for it.

Same as cars, you will loose 35% the minute you use it, then another 10% a year. If a new model comes out you can double your loss!

I lost 2k on a 505 XDE in 2 months, massive hit , but it was worth it just to see the back of it.

Its the price to pay to be first...As Gizlaroc said, its the same with cars and then we are talking about even larger amounts! Unless you buy right ;-) I sold my car for more than I bought it and drove it 30k miles in a year ;-)

Sine Jan last year I have owned and sold.....

    BMW 320d Sport Touring
    Mercedes ML270CDi Inspiration
    Audi A4 Avant 2.5TDi
    Audi A3 DSG S-Line
    Audi A4 Cabriolet 3.0
    Audi A2 TDi (90PS)
Audi A6 TDi Sport Avant (current)

I worked out the other night that they have cost me a grand total of £1800 so far, 2 tyres and a set of brake pads for the A4 Avant, and I have done 62,000 miles in them, I couldn't of bought a Fiat Uno kept it for 2 years and done 62k miles in it for £1800!

Just buy them all 6 months to a year old, they loose 30% straight away, 17.5% goes to the vat man and approx. 12% goes to the dealer, so I take advantage of that and then sell them when I am bored of them after 3-6 months.
You do seriously loose more money with this home cinema gear than you do with cars, scary!
