hi all

what wire/cable to i need to buy to connect my video player which has a Red White Yellow ports on bottom left.....

Toshiba VHS VCR Player Recorder V752UK Silver Boxed V-752UK VIDEO | eBay

to my LED TV (samsung ue46es6710) which i think has the same ports??

samsung ue46es6710 back - Google Search:

i was also given an adaptor by John lewis when i bought the TV which basically lets you connect your scart to a converter type cable that looks like the old iphone 4 charger on the other side of connection....

but i wont be able to connect like this as tv is on walll - an there is a pipe chased into the wall to slot cables through....but no way a scart fits through there so thought i could do with the red / white / yellow method???

just need to know the name of the cable or a link to a page where i can buy.....so i buy the right one :)

You could use a cable like that - BUT... you will need another adaptor to allow you to connect that cable to the scart output on the back of the Toshiba unit.

You cannot use the front phonos as they are an input only - not an output.

Here are images of the sort of adaptor you need.

Note that these can be configured to be output or input types and you need the right one (output).
The safest way is to get one which includes a switch which allows it to be configured for input or output.

oh right i was hoping 1 lead would do it tbh like this:

SCART connector to the back of video

3 coloured leads back of TV...

Yes you can use a scart to triple phono lead - No problem - but the input / output issue still pertains, so get the right type - or preferably one that includes a switched scart.

Forget the HDMI option. That cannot possibly work without some intervening electronics which would also require a power supply.
