There was a policewoman in 'The Hole', not the female detective, who reminded me of a TV series a while back, in the last ten years I think. It may or may not have been the same actress in the series I am trying to recall.

There were two secondary characters, women who started a lesbian relationship. One was, I think, a mum after a break up. The other, looking like said policewoman above, was a gardener, maybe builder, who drove an old land rover. Any clues on the series name?

    Hi Julie,

The police-woman in "The Hole" (I'm presuming you mean the 2001 Thora Birch teen-horror film?) was played by an actress called Maria Pastel.

The TV series sounds like it might have been a one-off ITV drama, rather than an official movie. Alas I can't actually name a title for you I'm afraid.

Could it have been an episode perhaps of a regular drama show, like "The Bill", "Inspector Morse", "Taggart", or "Midsummer Murders"?

Kelly Hunter was in that filmbut the policewoman, and was also in Prime Suspect 3

    Synopsis

The episode opens in a bar where we see transsexual Vera Reynolds in cabaret.

Jane is now working for the Vice Squad. A rent boy is found dead in a burnt out flat. The body is discovered to be that of a Colin Jenkins, also known as Connie.

Jane's prime suspect is Jimmy Jackson who grooms under age rent boys.

    And

The third installment of the acclaimed television series once again follows the exploits of Detective Superintendent Jane Tennison (Helen Mirren), who must solve the murder of a young boy who was burned alive. Follow her into the heart of evil where the guilty are pedophiles, prostitutes, and pornographers--and the innocent are even worse.

Could have been "A Village Affair", definately not a regular drama show, like "The Bill", "Inspector Morse", "Taggart", or "Midsummer Murders" because we don't ever watch those. I will give IMDB a look on the Village Affair

Update: don't think it was A Village Affair after looking at IMDB. I think the women were more secondary characters
