Having seen someone else asking, what was this film, I thought this may be a good place to help me solve a long standing mystery.

What was the childrens TV series where people turned against machines 9or was it the other way around)? It was probably on BBC in the early 70's, maybe in B&W. I think there was a boy and girl who went looking for their parents. Everytime they went near something mechanical, a moody noise was played - probably curtosy of BBC special effects dept.

Now I have a feeling I missed the last one, either that or it was a big anti climax. But I cannot remember how it finished.

    Thanks

    Ian

Wow that was some great investigation work there!

I vaguely remember this series, but even checking that website out, can't remember too much about it.

The definate image that sprung to mind, was the picture of the electricty pylons.

The Changes seem a popular question to be asked about but I have done a quick search for it on other threads and cannot find it

I remember the into it was showing machines coming to a sudden halt(freeze frame) like the train, then an ominous tune was played.

    Wow... 7 minutes work!

Yes, I am definately sure that is it "The Changes", I had forgotten the relevence of the electricity pylons.

And reading the end of the synopsis, I guess I did see the last in the series as I recall the stone, so maybe it was an anticlimax afterall.

    Thanks

I have it recorded from UK Gold where it was shown around '94-'95.
That was its first ever repeat since it original 70's outings

i hope they repeat it again - last time i saw it was on its original broadcast, and i have a vague memory of a man smashing up a cooker or washing machine.

Never actually seen this, although I have read the original three books (by Peter Dickinson) that the series was based on: The Devil's Children, Heartsease, and The Weathermonger. As a child I enjoyed them a lot, especially the last one.
