What video editor for MOD file?

    Hi there,
    I currently have the JVC GZ-MG20ek HDD Camcorder but the software they bundled with it(Power director Gold?) doesn't work.It gets to the splash screen then thats its :thumbsdow .

    So can anyone tell me whats the best editor for MOD files:lease:

    Try renaming the vob files as mpg and you will find that most software capable of accepting mpeg input will be usable.

    As for "best Editor" , Im not sure there is a best one as such. Somebody on the forums had a simlar problem and i offered to troubleshoot . He sent The Cyberlink software ( which installed without a hitch) and a DVD but no MOD files for me to try out

    I believe Adobe Premiere Elements ™, Pinnacle Studio™ 10, Sony Vegas Movie Studio™, Ulead VideoStudio™ 10 take MOD files natively but AFAIK only the last one of these examples does "smart rendering" : a feature of mpeg editing which minimises unnessesary reencoding which can lead to reduced PQ
