What to upgrade to from KEF Q70's?

I have KEF Q70's all round powered by a Yamaha DSP-A1 amp. I know the amp is fairly old now but it still gives good performance.

Has anyone got any tips on what to upgrade to for speakers for this amp? I don't mind spending a bit but I don't want to get "better" speakers than the amp justifies, if you see what I mean.

TIA,

I'd suggest a pair of Kef Ref 3.2's or Kef Ref 2.2's for the front L&R and keeping the rest for 7.1 surround duties?

There's a pair of 2.2's being sold on the classifieds forum that are only months old. I know because I bought a pair the same week from the same store as the guy selling them.

They match very nicely with the Q's, I previously had Q55.1's and I haven't stopped grinning since I got the Ref2.2's.

BTW. The Model 100 Centre he's selling is a corker too!

Mark.

PS. I'm not on commision here :D

Thanks Mark, BTW is the Kef Ref 2.2 a current model, I couldn't seem to find it on the KEF website?

Thanks,

No, the Ref 1.2, 2.2, 3.2 & 4.2 are the previous reference range. They are widely acclaimed and have had fantastic reviews.

The new Kef refs are also fabulous, though outside my price bracket.

Kef support is fabulous and these have 5 Year warrantees so spare parts won't be pproblem, not that you should need any.

Check here Kef Ref Two

If you're ever in the south east you could coem and have a listen?

I'm not selling mine though!

Mark.
