    I am buying a second hand Mark Levinson No. 331 (100w x 2) for about US$2500 or a Krell 300i (150w x 2) for about US$1500. I am on a budget and I am not afford to buy a screwed amp.

What do I need to look for when buying second hand? E.g. what are the signs that the amp had a hard life etc. Any advices are welcome.

    Thanks

By the way, I am thinking of pairing the amp with a pair of (new) B&W CDM 7NT or a CDM 9NT. I am very much looking forward to it ;)

First judge the owner, what sort of person are they?(this can quite often give an idea of how it was used),
then look and listen carefully and thoroughly to the amp.
