Bought a maxim dvd player about a year ago. Recently been playing up with dvds. Just been given a refund without having to return the original player by post. So I've got a rather poor reading dvd player for free. Any faqs anywhere for adjusting the laser and servicing the dvd drive. I've tried the normal audio cd lens cleaner discs and they don't help.

The dvd drive fitted is a fuss audio model. Sadly it doesn't use an ide interface so I can't use an old pc dvd drive I've got hanging about.

While their are two pot adjusters I marked them with a felt tip pen and tried minor adjustments but didn't have much luck in improving reading. Reads every cd beautifully though.
