Hi all. I wanna upgrade my 40 inch 1080p TV to a bigger, brighter set, 50 to 55 inches. I'm thinking to go with a va panel as I'm not too bothered about wide viewing angles. Viewing distance will be within 2 metres. I don't watch TV regularly, so I don't feel like I can justify paying so much money for a higher end hdr set, so something that'll improve my 1080p experience will be good enough.

What are the best options for £500 or less?

This deal just pooped up not heard of the shop but I would get a hisense TV

also, this Samsung might be OK

Hisense U7Q, nothing comes close in the budget segment. Local dimming and a much brighter TV reaching around 700 nits compared to your typical 300-350 from other budget TVs.

Yes its a little more expensive but its worth it.

Consider buying at a better time if you want a 2020 model, since now TVs are currently overpriced. Black Friday 2020 or later will mean your cash will stretch further.

Well known UK high street hardware/ironmongers. Didn’t know they sold TVs, more kettles, toasters etc, presumably online only
