    Hi bigguy,

Maybe you could add the Pioneer PDP-433MXE to your list. I saw one of these in action yesterday and the picture quality looked superb, even from an S-video source. Other folk on this forum swear by the Panasonic TH-42PW5B, or it's HD sister model the TH-42PHD5. I don't think you'd go far wrong with any of these three models.

Agree the choice really lies between Pioneer and Panasonic for picture quality (the Panny is a bit better for blacks, but overall the high def screen on the Pio 433MXE is superior IMO with better connections and upgradeability), but that's not much help if there are none in the warehouse;)

Of those you mention I'd tend to go for the Philips, but I saw the Sony in a dealer's yesterday and was much impressed. The best advice any of us can give is - try to demo them before you buy. Even a cheap plasma is a lot of money to shell out "on trust".

Just as an asdie the JVC GD-V4211 (and Gd-V4210) are both discontinued and replaced by the fantastic GM-P420E. If I were you I would try to see the P420E before making a descision. It has higher contrast and brightness than the 433MXE with good connectivity + built in speakers all while being £500 (ish, depending where you go) less.

    Hope this helps.

    Pioneer is still fantastic though!

The odd thing about the Sony is that all the connections go in horizontally instead of vertically. This makes wall mounting much more awkward.
