Since arriving here in NZ we have a started a tradition of a light breakfast at about 8-ish, a social brunch in the park/gardens with friends around 11-ish, then on to a late lunch with other friends which is usually eaten in the mid-late afternoon period sometime after 3pm, often a bit later. This year the weather is shaping up to be good, so al-fresco dining is de regueur for xmas day....

Brunch is usually croissants, strawberries, ambient temperature cheese, mince pies and sparkling wine combined with frisbee, footie and throwing balls for friends dogs.

Xmas lunch/dinner is a combination of (northern hemisphere) traditional turkey, sprouts, roast potatoes etc. plus a cashew and hazlenut roast for us vegetarians, followed by pavlova and or xmas pudding and brandy butter. The xmas cake usually gets tucked into in the evening and the following days weeks.

So to answer the poll question, we have xmas dinner at about 4 in the morning, your time !!

It used to be between 2 - 3pm, but last year and this we're off out to our local Indian Restaurant for Christmas dinner, and he's only opening 12 til 3 (ish :)). So We'll get there about 1 or so, and graze for the next couple of hours.
