What the best all round graphics card for the pc

    What the best all round graphics card for the pc, but i dont want to pay loads cos i might be selling my comp but i want a decent one for round about the £60 mark. The one i have at the moment is out dated its a, nvidia geforce 4 mx440 with an agp 8X
    chears hope some one can shine a light for me

    For 60 quid you could get a Radeon 9600 ( no prefix or suffix ).

    It's fanless which is a bonus for HTPC use.

    You don't say what you want to use it for. Playing games? Watching DVDs? General PC work?

    As groovyclam says, the usual suspect is a 9600 of some sort, there you'll see a range starting at about 50 quid, that's be fine for watching movies and less demanding gaming, but don't expect to play Doom 3 on it. ;)

    I'm playing Half-Life 2 on my vanilla 9600 and it seems to cope pretty well. Most bells and whistles are turned on.

    Interesting, I'd not have though a low-end 9600 would be powerful enough for HL2.

    I should say this is at 960x540 res, not a super-high res.

    I'd set your sights a bit higher along the lines of a NVidia6600GT which only just plays DOOM3 well enough for most..... It also does a good job of any DVD/hi def stuff assuming you have the horsepower....
