What Tech do I need next??

Standard Member
Hi, I'm on a small crusade to upgrade and try to catch up with tech at home, but there's so much new stuff I just can't keep up with the innovations. Help!! Please.

I've got 4 zones of sonos. 2 x controllers. 2x controller apps running on Ipod's.
All pc's and laptops networked.
PS3 online and used as BD player to 42" plasma.

6TB of storage on Thecus Raid 5 NAS currently with music for sonos
with intention of ripping hundreds of DVD's to use PS3 as 'video jukebox'

Running mission speakers on sonos at 3 zones. Mordaunt shorts on Main HIFI amp in livingroom.
TV back fed (line in ) to sonos for tv audio around house.

I intend to upgrade the HIFI amp to a yamaha or onkyo 5.1 and install speakers accordingly, poss retaining the M.S's
I may have space to retain the HIFI amp but it's not very high end.

I'm thinking of a humax freesat HD Recorder soon to.

Am I missing anything?

Without going silly is there any tech I should know about?
What is a twonky server....should I get up to speed?
DLNA Is this important? I could google it I suppose.

I just want to avoid buying tech only to read on here 3 months later that I've gone the wrong way.

All suggestions welcomed even more so if I'm already doing it right.

Many thanks, Pete.
