Due to space restrictions I really need to change my rears for something smaller.

I currently have a Linn amps and speakers (2x 5125 running Espek fronts active, Trikan centre active and katan rears passive) linked to a Tag AV32 and DVD32R.

I have been thinking about M&Ks (K series or Xenon) although haven't got a clue how they would integrate.

Or maybe a couple of Gallo balls??

Any suggestions / advice much appreciated!

I just have a fairly cheap pair for rear duties (see sig) they seem to complement my Linn Ninka's and Trikan fine. They mount on the wall and have a fairly unobtrusive foot print.

Another possibility is either Linn's smallest current speaker, the Unik,or maybe an in-wall speaker like the Sekrit, which will match your front speakers a little more closely in terms of general sound.

Either way,be sure to try and listen before you eventually buy, wherever possible.

I have M&K K4 tripole surrounds with my system and think that they are excellent. I do have M&K front speakers from a completely different range though.

I am on record as not being a great Gallo lover as I think that although they can sound very good, I have also heard them sounding very poor and/or average and think that their sound must be too dependant on the partnering amp.

Having said that, they are for rear use only where I don't think that their shortcomings would be quite so apparent. Still not a great deal of help though so you may have to try and find a local dealer and demo them yourself

    Thanks Ian,
I think you are right - I need to demo them.
This is where the problem starts - I live in Spain and AV ain't quite as popular here (M&K don't even have a distributor here).
I do travel back to blighty quite often though.
Anyone know a dealer who could demo both the M&K's and the Gallos?? Location isn't too much of a problem although North/Midlands and London would be preferable.

Forum sponsors AV-Sales are Gallo dealers and they have a setup in one of their demo rooms at Tunbridge Wells. Unfortunately I don't think that they handle M&K but you are more than welcome to listen to mine in the Midlands if you wish

I'll second that opinion. I heard Gallo's Micro and A'Diva on the end of Tag electronics and they sounded crap - too bright and thin IMO. :( They were also tweaked by someone who is a well-respected Pro Installer, so should have been setup right too.

However with Primare amps, they really came to life!

    Thanks Ian,
I will probably be back in the UK in Feb/March. I will try to find a dealer that can demo both. If I can't, I hope you don't mind me contacting you to take you up on your kind offer.

    Many Thanks

I believe that I was with you at the time but I think that it was the Myryad amp that they performed well with.
