    Hi All

I have just brought some monitor audio silver speakers with a arcam amp now I am looking for a sub to go with the set up. This is my first set up so would really like some help or recommendations, I am a complete novice so any help would be welcome. I would not mind buying a second hand sub.
    Many Thanks
    Dalsal

I have the silver rx range and use a bk monolith sub with them, the sound is super clean and tight and it integrates perfectly with them, im very happy with the sound.

    Hi Dalsal

Welcome to the forum. It would help if you mentioned the arcam model and also the monitor audio model you are using. Are you looking at surround sound or integrating your intended sub into a stereo only configuration? What is your maximum budget for this purchase? Am sure you will receive many recommendations from the knowledgeable folk on this forum.

Yes, we can't possibly make recommendations until we know you budget?

And it would very helpful to know the specific models of the speakers and amp.

That said, the BK Electronic Subs offer great value, and are used by many members of the forum -

Sub Woofers - Sub Bass - Subwoofer

Consider the size of the room, and you budget and simply pick the model that best suits you. The XLS200 and XXLS400 are available in Front Firing and Down Firing. The XLS200 has a 10" bass driver capable of going down very deep. The XXLS400 has a 12" bass driver. Other possible models would be based on available budget.

If you have a substantial budget then REL, SVS, HSU, Velodyne, etc....

    Hi Nikophonics

    Thank you for the reply.
The arcam amp is a AVR300 and the speakers are monitor audio silver Fxi 4373 ( I think that is the model number as I said complete I am a novice at this so please excuse me if I am wrong).
Budget wise I was looking to spend £400 to £500 on a sub to go with my surround sound set up.
    Many Thanks

In that price range, BK Electronics are probably your best choice -

Sub Woofers - Sub Bass - Subwoofer

On the lower end the XLS-200 (down firing or front firing) has a 10" bass driver and deep response. The XXLS-400 (DF or FF) is very similar but with a 12" bass driver. I think both are compact sealed cabinets.

The variations of the Monolith are ported and in larger cabinets. Which you choose is completely up to you.

    Hi Dalsal
Have a read of the XXLS400 review blue wizard sent in his link. You mentioned a budget of £400 to£500, this sub is a no brainer! I prefer sealed enclosures, this sub is such a beast.Cant go wrong for this kind of money. Brilliant sub. You wont be able to audition it as they deal only online. But no need to in my opinion, just buy it!
