What speakers to which receiver

Hi people.

I own an old sony str-de475 and some really old sony speakers from an even older system (just so we understand, it's all old)

I would like to upgrade. Firstly is to either the PCH A100 or the HDX1000, but thats another post sometime.

I read about systems being too bright etc, so i would like to know if any of the following are a good combination, and why, so i can understand.

The receivers. Either the Sony STRDG820 or the Yamaha RX-V465 paired with either the Tannoy SFX 5.1 or the KEF KHT1005 or the JAMO A102-HCC5.

One last thing. I have the skirting boards off at the moment. I have some speaker cable run (2.5mm, purchased from TLC-Direct) but was wondering if i should invest in better cable at this point.

Any help here would be appreciated.

The Sony would go with the Tannoy package and the Yamaha would suit the Jamo package. KEFs are fairly neutral and would most probably suit either receiver.
