    Hi

I'm looking for a set of surround speakers for the Sony DG820, preferably under £200, preferably better than or similar to the ones with the Sony DAV-SR1 lol. Too much?

Also, I'm getting SkyHD soon and was told by a friend that only the movie channels and a couple of others actually broadcast 5.1 sound, is this true?

    Matt

i have the sony dg920, and run the mordaunt short premiere plus system with it.. 309i sub.. is very good... might be slightly over budget but as its an older system you might be able to get a good deal on it

Your friend doesn't lie on the audio from Sky HD.... bit naff really!

As for speakers under £200, the usual suspects are:

    Jamo A102HCS5 5.1 Home Cinema Speaker Package 500W: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

    Mordaunt Short Avant Premiere

Sub is a bit naff in both to be honest.... the 309i is available in the better MS ones but bumps up the price significantly!!!

I have found the Wharfedale Vardus system for around £330, is that any cop and is it compatible with the amp? Anything else around this price range and does anyone know how the speakers with the DAV-SR1 stack up?

Any word on how to get 5.1 out of Sky? For instance, if I am watching Lost or something like that, can I get it in 5.1?

    OK change of question lol.

I have an Xbox360, PC and soon to be SkyHD which I would like to connect to a projector through only one HDMI cable. Are there any Blu-Ray packages out there with HDMI pass through which I could then use a HDMI switcherooney box on to get the 3 inputs?

EDIT: Or even http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/4641 Am I correct in assuming that the HDMI signal input will strip out the audio to pipe through the included speakers and pass the video signal onto the projector?

you say you have the sony dg820 so why would you need another unit with hdmi pass through when the sony does that?

    Hi

Thanks for the reply, although I don't think I mentioned I had it already, just that I was looking for some speakers to match it, sorry if i gave the wrong impression there.
