I want a half decent system for my ipod wich I will use at home but would like something easy to carry so I can play it at work in the warehouse and has to be fairly loud as I want to be able to hear it when the trucks drive by but most important I want the sound to be cler no matter what the volume.

I connect my ipod to my amp at the moment when I am at home via audio cable but not sure if I would get better sound from a jbl or denon speaker with the ipod connected directly to the system. I certainly want something decent for work but do you think I should stick with what I have at home or will the JBL or denon system give me better quality? I have a Denon 2803 amp and Kef 2005 speakers and a £20 cable that goes from my ipod headphone output to the amp if that helps.

Looking at something like this http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/sto...u=158565&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null

Just to let you know that you can get the previous incarnation of the sounddock now for a bargain price. For that money its supposed to be good. I would never spend close to 300 quid on one mind.

Cheap one does not charge the ipod although I have a mains charger so that isn't too much of an issue. I was tempted with the more expensive bose because it is more portable ie the handle and hides the ipod connection but is it really worth double the money just for those features along with a battery so that you can use it outdoors something I would not do.

I've seen horrible reviews of lots of BOSE sound equipment... generally style over substance it seems.

Can't help in a positive way though, sorry.
