Need some advice for front speakers.

I'm thinking of getting rid of my rear speakers and then rotating the remaining ones and buying a new set of fronts. I currently have a B&W 601s which I was going to put on the rear. A CC6 currently as the centre and staying there. What should I put on the front.

The room is 15' * 11', and Iwas wondering which would be best 602.5 or 603. I think 604s would be too powerful for this size room but maybe i'm wrong

    Any advice appreciated

    Hi :)

I have the 603 fronts and 601 rears and a 600 centre in a 4m by 3.5m room. The 603's are great m8 and I would go for them over the 602 or 602.5.

My room is almost exactly the same size with the 603 s3's which I though would be too much, but no, they are indeed more then fine, they're spot on...

But I do like bass, having a sub in the car.. but amazingly I find that for music the 603's are a fraction lean in the low end department, but this can only be cured with a sub (Shortly on its way), but movies show that boy they can absolutely rock big time... Saving Private Ryan (DTS) shows the depths the 603's can go to when needed, you would swear you would never need a sub.

I think it depends upon whether you plan to use a sub in the future which, lets be honest, is pretty much essential if you want to hear/feel all the low frequency information on many DVDs.

If you do intend to use a sub then there is no real need to use larger front speakers - if you do not wish to use a sub then you should probably look at the 603's as they will provide a fair amount of low bass.

i would say 602 and then a sub would be better than 603 as you will have more control over the bass and generally would sound better (IMO).

    Hi

I have 603 S2 front and rear and Rel Strata II Sub. I demoed the 603 S3 last week. I would go for either 602 / 602.5 plus a subwoofer over just the 603 on it's own as dts_boy says, but if you can go for the 603 with a Rel / B&W or Velodyne Sub go for it - it makes a big difference imho.

    Room is 15 x 14 feet.

    Regards

    Gus

    Good idea Gus :)

I think I will go for a ASW 600 sub...as size and price is an issue.
I hope this sounds good with my 603's at the front!

Sorry I am a bit late but maybe it will help anyway.

I heard the 602 and 602.5 quickly in a dodgy environment (a John Lewis Audio room full of stuff) but for my taste, the 602 sounded significantly better than the 602.5.
