My new ixus II camera is on its way to me , bought for £179.99.

I wanted a decent small digital camera for when i go to hong kong.

Just found a guy in hong kong that sells the following:

    Pentax Optio S4 HK$2850 (£199)
    Casio Exilim Z4 HK$2950 (£205)
    Canon IXUS 400 HK$3100 (£216)

should i return the ixus II camera and buy one when im over there ?
I wanted to get one before i go so i can get used to the camera and make sure it works ok ?

    what do you think ?

a couple of years ago now but a friend of mine got a canon s30 whilst on holiday in canada, he just recently wanted to upgrade his f/ware to accept the new photo printing software, he took it to his local photo store (UK) and they wouldnt touch it because it wasnt made for the uk market.
so imho, unless its universally guarenteed or you can save quite a lot to justify no help later, then buy at home.

yes mark, thanks, i already knew of that, the point i tried to make was that a cannon supplier, wouldnt take it on here in uk because he could not accept the s30 if it cocked up in any way as it was imported, i do understand also quite a few manufacturers/suppliers offer universal help and or warranty where ever the camera was purchased, and for jonnyv to be aware of these facts. cheers
