Hi I'm about upgrade from an old TV in the corner of my living room to a home cinema setup. The plan so far is to get an X-series Bravia, a Sony STRDA5200ES receiver (although I'd prefer to go for the Yamaha 2700 if I could afford it), and add some kind of sub and satellites to the trusty pair of PMC TB1's that I've had as part of my stereo/home-studio setup for many years. My first thought was simply to add a KEF 2005.2 5.1 package and make a 7.1 system. I then wondered if a set of AE AEGO T's would be worth the extra money, and now I'm also wondering if I should consider spending the same amount of money on just 3 satellites of some kind and a sub, then using the extra 2 channels on the amp to bi-amp the TB1's, but I'm not convinced that I'd get more for my money that way. Right now I'll be playing back standard DVD's, watching SkyHD, listening to CD's and playing Xbox360 games, so that means 7.1 might be overkill. However, I expect there'll be a PS3 coming along sometime in the next 6 months so BluRay content is bound to follow. The room this will be in is more-or-less 5m square, and I'm going for satellites so I can wall-mount them and keep as much as possible out of the reach of my now-crawling-everywhere 7-month-old son. Anyone have any advice or recommendations? Thanks!
