i have a celestion csw mk2 subwoofer '97 and its quiet a good sub but...
on certain bass notes wen i turn it up it makes a hurendeous rattle noise!!
any one had the same problem????
i think maybe the driver is hitting the wood on the inside cabinet.
is it worth opening it up and having a look??
also what inch is this subwoofer...???

While you may be right if something has actually worked loose.

It would probably rattle all the time if that was the case. :thumbsdow

It is more likely that you are exceeding the ability of the drive-unit to follow the signal. The cone is hitting the end stops.

It's called "Bottoming out" in subwoofer circles.

Nothing to do with mooning though.

Don't turn your sub up so high. Or you'll quickly wreck it. :nono:

You may want to consider a more powerful subwoofer if you really like bass. :smashin:

There may be other opinions regarding your sub's symptoms...?
