What setting?

On the Tosh SD 350E, currently playing over component with progresive scan turned on and the hdmi at 720, does changing the hdmi setting make any difference with progesive either on or off or am I right in thinking its only for the hdmi connection?.

Yes, making any changes to HDMI settings wont effect the component output.
