    I'd wait for Sky HD.

Why buy another satellite box and dish to watch foreign hd tv?????

the stb route is gonna expensive coz its new, but you can get HD through a pc with dvbs card in it, like the skystar2.

and although this takes some SERIOUS playin and tweaking, this is how i'll be getting HD to start with anyway...

My view is that with EURO1080 coming to the same satellites that carry the SKY service and using the same codec for High Def it's highly likely the SKY HD box will allow viewing of HD1/2. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they are bundled into a SKY package as well as being a standalone service.
If this is the case then waiting a few months might make sense if indeed SKY launch even a partial service.

You also have to remember that mpegII is more or less dead as a codec for mainstream consumer driven HD in Europe so buying a dedicated STB which only handles mpegII for EURO1080 and the odd FTA broadcast (which may not last) is risky.
