    Hi all,

I have just acquired an ASK M5 4:3 projector. it has a 16:9 mode, so what should I run my windows desktop at if I use this?
1024x576 or something? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

hmmm so the native res is 1024x768?
In that case - if all it's doing is letterboxing then yes, I guess 576 is the fella. Is the unused portion of the output totally black when in 16:9 mode?

    Hi,
yes its supposed to be black, but in fact is more of a dark grey as good blacks are not its forte.
Have tried to use a res of 1024 x 576 but the bottom of the screen is missing. Have no idea what front and back etc settings to use. Have just been guessing and have not got close to 1:1 pixel mapping.
Have searched for 1:1 powerstrip settings for my projector but cannot even find a mention of it.

    Cheers
    Andy

If it's not showing the blanked areas as black it may be better to run 1024x768 for dvd and let Theatertek, etc do the AR stuff. Maybe :)
I would imagine that it will prefer a 1024x768 res for 1:1 pixel mapping.
