My Mission FS1 AV came as a 5.1 package, but I want to upgrade to 6.1 ... so I guess that just means wiring in a single rear center speaker, directly the reciever.

She who must be obeyed demands a matching speaker, so that means another Mission FS1.

But I cannot work out whether this should be a Centre speaker (as per the front centre) or an identical unit to the rear speakers.

    Any answers gratefully received.

Hi...I'm getting a Sony STRDB2000, which has an output for the 6 bit (IE additional center).

I'm a bit wary...as it'll be the only one not driven out of the Sub.

If it was me I would just buy another FS1 speaker which can be bought on their own from :- http://www.hifistore.co.uk/product.php?qsProd=FS1PANEL they also list a centre one http://www.hifistore.co.uk/product.php?qsProd=FS1CENTRE so maybe centre and rear speakers are different ?!?

If only I could get a FS2 single speaker for a 6.1 setup, Might just buy a FS1 speaker. Audio wise you should really buy a FS1 speaker as it matches acoustically with the other NTX flat panel speakers.

Not sure on the FS1 but all the FS2 speakers are the same so does not matter which one is used for front, rear or centre or centre rear.

if u get a FS1 for the rear centre, it is of utmost importance u set the Sonys setting to 'small' otherwise the NXT panel will fry, as its trying to deliver bass which it can't.

    good luck anyway
    :)

This reply is probably too late but i'll try anyway

When i had the fs2 system i did the same and went to 6.1 but instead of buying a rear surround i bought a dedicated center speaker and used the fs2 center at the back.

Just run the amp center to center spk and the rear center to the center input on the sub

Definatley made a differnce having better center speaker

Not too late as I'm still waiting for the Sony Db2000 to become available.

I had'nt thought about switching the Center - good call.

I saw on another thread that the VERY NICE PEOPLE at Mission will give you a convertor that allows you to use your own (better quality) cable and connect into the 'odd' Mission sockets...if you ask very nicely.

They also mention that given the dynamics of NXT technology, there is no need to buy top quality cabling. I'm not sure if this is a reflection on the audio quality of FS1's or the simply the demands made upon the cables by NXT.

As an aside, LuvYaJen, I'm tired of waiting for Sony to launch the DB2000, can you let me know what you think of the Pioneer 912 running FS1AV's - it looks like a mighty fine reciever, but what's it sound like?

    A question

Do the speaker wires connect to the sub or to the amp on the FS1 system?

    Thanks
