What Product? Quality Improvement?

Bad news is that I have taken my Coax down (from my sitting room on ground flr to my Home Cinema room on the lower ground flr) and the signal is appauling. I can't work out why because I tested the Coax socket it is fed from on the ground flr months ago and it was fine..so I am very dissapointed....

Which brings me onto Digital (dare I say it).

A) Would the introduction of a Freeview STB introduce a no nonsense, crackle free signal and solve the problem?

B) If so, which STB do I go for? I am freeview ignorant..so any advice on what I should know would be great.

Thanks
P.S. I'd quite like to pop into any well known high street retailer tomorrow and just get something simple off the shelf

Are you saying your aerial signal is now poor. If so you need to sort it out before buying a FV box. Poor signal in, poor or no signal out with FV.

Fred, yes that is what I was saying. That's a shame, I thought the box may improve the signal. I have found a way arund the problem which requires me to extend the aerial lead upstairs to another socket in that room which does have a clean signal.... just didn't want to do that because it means pulling up carpet to run it in front of our fireplace... I digress.

Thanks..will sort the signal. I'd still like to know which box to look at.

The Echostar 101+ (+ version only from Woolworth's) has a good reputation on the DS forums.
