i have around 900 quid to spend what would that get me plasma size

looking at either 37 or 42 inch

could maybe stretch it to 950 or 1000

also i read other threads saying that most of the tv's at richer sounds need other components how much do these cost

Your budget is unreasonable for a plasma,Richersounds are doing the 37PW7 £899 and the 42PWD7 £999.These are panels only and only have VGA connector, you'll have to add scart, component boards, speakers (if needed) and some kind of mount or av cabinet so add at least another £150-£200 to these.

For £900 you'll not get a new plasma which will look good with a PC, I'd say you need at least 1024x768 resolution to display a PC with a decent PQ so i'd add around £1000 if you want to run your PC through it.

dvdchild's offer seems like it's got everything you'll need.

I would still go pw7, read the posts on avscience knocking the Samsung PS42S5SD and more so the DNIe on it and the lack of being able to turn it off. Loads of guys have now swapped it for the pw7/8 and can't beleive how much better it is.

A digital display is more of a gamble buying new than used, at least you can confirm there are no dead pixels in the middle of the screen when buying used and they may have even got to the 1000 hour break in mark if you are lucky too.

There seems to be quite a big forum on the Aldi offer of a 42" Tevion at £999, and despite some of the disparaging comments and comparisons, most of the new owners seem very happy.
