there's a lot of debate about whether HD is worth the money ocnsidering we don't know yet how everything with Sky is going to pan out- but if you're considering it for pc work- it's a must! set your resolution to 800x600 on your pc and you'll see how bad it is, and think on an 850x450 (or whatever they are) plasma it'll be even worse. Sure=, you can send it a higher res, but then you just lose the detail.

I've been considering getting a pe50 over a pv500 for a few days, mainly because of the vga input on the pv500.

I have a media center box which I have connected to my rubbish 25' panasonic crt via compostive. The pe50 doesn't give me many options for connecting it, it's either composite tv-out on the pc (rubbish), or s-vga tv-out to scart. Both not ideal.

I have DVI on the pc but the pe50 doesn't have that or a hdmi connector. Therefore I'm pushed towards the pv500 which has all the relevant connections.

Will wait a couple of months (till new year?) to see if the prices come down. I only want to spend £1200-£1500.. I could be waiting a while.
